Testing Methodology Platform - TMP©
As part of its intellectual property Testing IT has developed a
methodology for testing, called The TMP©
(Testing Methodology Platform).
This platform complies with the various software life-cycle phases -from
the vantage point of the testing- by executing certain tasks which help
to test an application in the appropriate manner.
Some of the characteristics it features are: The Incremental Iterative
Work Model, which defines roles, responsibilities, activities, tasks,
methods and procedures. In other words, What, How, When and Who? This
platform and the artifacts it generates are measurable, replicable, and
help us detect and mitigate risks.
Apart from taking us by the hand in executing and integral testing
process, it also yields better practices for the different situations
that might arise in a given project. For example: What to do when the
documentation on the system to be tested is non-existent, Lack of Time
(Extreme Tests use), Proper Tests Focus (that is, Testing Based on
Risk); etc.
Testing IT Body of Knowledge - TIBoK©
A Knowledge Base that comprises several different areas in the discipline of testing:
- Foundations of Testing: Taking into account aspects such as History, Current Situation, Main Concepts, Taxonomy, and the Role of the Testing Engineer.
- Standards, Models and Testing Processes: Where we consider differing frameworks existent in the discipline also including our methodological platform. It is worth mentioning that in this section we have also included Maturity Models such as The Test Process Improvement (TPI) and The Test Maturity Model (TMM).
- Advanced Techniques: Risk-based Testing, eXtreme Testing, Cyclomatic Complexity, MITs (Most Important Tests) and Advanced Testing Design.
- Tools and Testing Automation: With topics such as Automation 101, Types of Tools, Automation Framework, Leading Market Tools, ATLM (Automated Testing Lifecycle Methodology).
- Testing Management: A Cluster of Practices for measurement (metrics), Risks Management, Testing Follow-up and Control.
